1 – Optimice su Biografía y tweets con palabras claves. Google y Bing obtienen cada vez con más asiduidad el contenido social que publicamos, y si optimizamos nuestros perfiles con las palabras claves más importantes, aumentaremos nuestra visibilidad en los resultados. Eso sí, no debemos abusar de ellas o de lo contrario entorpecerás la lectura a los demás.
2 – No limitarse a hablar de uno mismo. Si hacemos un monólogo o nos hacemos menciones sólo a nosotros mismos, no ganaremos demasiados seguidores. Compartir ideas, dar consejos, ser divertidos o invitar a la reflexión son acciones que debemos hacer en el día a día.
3 – Comparte contenido interesante. Cuánto más actualizaciones, más seguidores, pero debes procurar que el contenido que ofreces sea realmente interesante.
4 – Utilizar hashtag. Es una forma de obtener nuevos seguidores, publicar algo que tenga relevancia en ese momento y sea una tendencia. Muchas personas los siguen y si demuestras ser interesante, podrás obtener unos cuántos followers más.
5 – Permite los retweets. Cada vez que hagas una actualización, asegúrate de dejar espacio suficiente para que los demás puedan hacerte RT y así llegarás a todos los followers de quién te ha mencionado. Controla la cantidad de caracteres de tu nombre en Twitter y cuando hagas una publicación, asegúrate de dejar esa misma cantidad en blanco, junto a otros cuatro espacios para la mención (RT @.....)

Hay horarios básicos en los que podemos actualizar nuestro estado, e incluso muchas personas optan por repetirlos hasta tres veces para asegurarse de tener máxima visibilidad.
7 – Sigue a los demás. Para obtener seguidores es necesario seguir a otros, e incluso cuando alguien te sigue puedes devolverle el favor, así también se les demuestra a los otros que se está participando activamente en Twitter. Eso sí, lentamente debemos ir centrándonos en nuestro nicho de interés.
8 – Cuando se trata de seguidores en Twitter, la calidad cuenta. Google unió el año pasado a Twitter y la reputación de los perfiles en ésta se encuentra entre los factores de valoración que ahora se consideran en una página web. Si nuestro blog o sitio es enlazado por una persona en Twitter con fuerte reputación, su repercusión será mucho más fuerte.
9 – Personaliza tu fondo de Twitter. Es muy sencillo escoger un fondo pero como consejo, a modo de identificación, lo ideal es que sea muy similar a la de su página web. Incluso podemos subir nosotros mismos la imagen que queramos que debe ser de 1.024 x 768 píxeles, o 1.280 x 1.024 píxeles.
